3 Wheel Spyder Motorcycle
3 Wheel Spyder Motorcycle
The 3 wheel Spyder motorcycle is a fairly new concept, an evolutionary step forwards in motorcycle design. How did this Cam-Am Spyder motorcycle come into being?
A team of more than 30 designers, engineers, technicians, mechanics and investors worked full time in Valcourt, Quebec to realize this project, and it was this combination of expertise which helped to create the Cam-Am Spyder motorcycle as we know today.
The 3 wheel Spyder motorcycle is manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products and this particular vehicle / 'motorcycle' was released only very recently in the year 2007. It utilizes a chassis similar to those found in all terrain vehicles and being that is has 3 wheels instead of the usual two associated with more traditional motorcycles, this makes the 3 wheel Spyder motorcycle extremely stable. The additional benefit is that the Can-Am Spyder motorcycle requires much less of a learning curve in learning how to ride it. Essentially, it is really a cross between a very modern hybrid car but with the motorcycles stylish excellent looks and appearance.
Can-Am motorcycles have a rear drive wheel whilst the two forward wheels are used for steering. The main ingredient or technology behind the Can-Am motorcycles stability is the VSS stability system that monitors the vehicle at all times and intervenes if for example one of the front wheels for whatever reason, leaves the ground.
In pretty much all the USA the Can-Am Spyder is classed as a motorcycle. The engineering has a significant amount of safety features built in, for example stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes and of course much increased stability due to the 3 wheel Spyder motorcycle' layout. It also combines the performance of a traditional motorcycle with about the same sort of cost. Needless to say, over an automobile, the Can-Am Spyder motorcycle is extremely economical and very cheap to run, whilst affording the rider the added security for those more in fear of just two wheeled motorcycle transport alone.
For the style conscious, the Can-Am Spyder motorcycle will certainly turn heads in admiration of it's boyish good looks. Suitable for city commuting or even longer distance state wide touring, this 3 wheel Spyder motorcycle may just be the mode of transport that you are looking for.
Luggage space is built into the Can-Am Spider and has at least enough room for 2 motorcycle helmets. A top box at this moment in time unfortunately is not offered as part of the package.
The Can-Am Motorcycles Spyder does however have additional very convenient features which do come as standard. These include a simplified and very efficient braking system, both front and rear brakes actuated by the same foot pedal, a reverse gear, power steering of course, so tight corners will certainly not be any problem at all, a power assisted clutch and an optional electric shift transmission.
